An excellent summary of the evidence was published today the blog Among the facts are several indications that physical exercise may be a boon to recovery and healing of injuries. Additionally there is evidence that it can be neuro-protective and play a role in certain debilitating neurologic disorders such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

It can't be said enough; staying active is a good thing.
